Finally, someone is giving former host of Entertainment Tonight's spin-off Access Hollywood, Pat O'Brien, a taste of his own medicine. In his recent tell-all memoir, the television and radio personality alleges a lot of ugly things about woman that enjoy reputations far more pristine that his own. Most notably, O'Brien accuses longtime Today show icon and current Yahoo! World News anchor, Katie Couric, of being so drunk during an interview they conducted at Donald Trump's wedding that the footage was unusable. Now, Pat's ex-fiancé, Betsy Hoyt Stephens, whose reputation O'Brien also smears in the book, has come forward to reveal that she has no hard feeling despite all the horrible reported fabrications her former lover put in his book. Betsy assured everyone that, in her opinion, Pat is a pathetic washed-up old alcoholic that deserves her pity at this sad point in his life.
Pat O'Brien' at one time enjoyed' a sterling career and reputation in radio and television, but that all came crashing down around him after a recording' wherein her begging a woman for sex and cocaine, was released to the public.
Most recently Pat tried to make a splash and a dollar when he released his shocking new memoir about his fall from grace.
According to the August 18 issue of In Touch Weekly, Pat chose a who's who of Hollywood starlets to lambast in hopes of moving a few copies of his tell-all:
"Pat claims he did an interview with Katie Couric at Donald Trump's 2005 wedding that never aired because she was so drunk.
"He recalls how Angelina Jolie, pre-Brad Pitt, once joked that she was so horny she needed to find a man to hook up with.
"He also blasts ex-colleagues Nancy O'Dell (for being stupid) and Mary Hart (for being cold)."
As angry as Katie and Angie might be at such untoward accusations, Pat's onetime fiancé, Betsy Hoyt Stephens, now married with two children, explained in Star's recent December 1, issue that O'Brien was in such a pitiable state these days people should be more concerned with his health than his ridiculous novel:
"I don't resent him. I feel sorry for him.
"He was a brilliant, charismatic, funny man.
"I adored him and now he's...well, he's an alcoholic.
"Last, I heard his book only sold 2,000 copies, and he's living off of government assistance.
"I pray for him every Sunday in church."
Yeah...well, Jesus don't fix stupid.
