Fox ‘Gotham’ New ‘Harvey Dent’ Episode Spoilers: ‘Masters of Sex’ Nicholas D’Agosto Two Face Compared to ‘Dark Knight’ Aaron Eckhart

Tonight, Fox’s hit Batman prequel, Gotham is all new with yet another great villain in the making. Nicholas D'Agosto (Heroes, Masters of Sex) guest stars as Harvey Dent, the man who will become Two Face. Recently, D’Agosto spoke up about what makes his version of Dent different from The Dark Knight’s Aaron Eckhart version of the classic comic character.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode of Gotham, titled “Harvey Dent,” reads:

“Harvey Dent encourages Gordon to team up with Mayor James in an attempt to close the Wayne murder case. Meanwhile, Penguin makes contact with Mooney's secret weapon.”

Tonight’s episode stars Nicholas D'Agosto as Harvey Dent, the man who will become the villain Two Face.

Recently, D’Agosto spoke to Entertainment Weekly about how his character will be different from The Dark Knight’s version with Aaron Eckhart:

“What’s unique would be that this is the origin story so [the writers] have this freedom to follow their imagination for the foundation of this guy. I looked through what were the through-lines for Harvey Dent in his history and I thought it was really important to latch onto his early parental abuse by his father. What’s nice about this origin story is that although he’s going to look a little different than other pre-Two Face Harvey Dents, there’s foreshadowing of his darker nature--there’s going to be a little bit of that you’re seeing early.”

D’Agosto went a futher into the mind(s) of Harvey Dent:

“The character does get established as a positive character that Jim Gordon [Ben McKenzie] can get behind. But there’s an ambition in his Harvey Dent, there’s almost a craven ambition to him, and that can lead to his more angry episodes. It lends itself to a darker element to him that most people will know. Dent is still a pure and genuine character who switches with the accident.”

Be sure to check out the all new episode of Gotham tonight at 8:00 p.m eastern on Fox.
