New Summoner's Rift 'League of Legends' Design Update LIVE for 2015 Season [DETAILS, PLAY NOW]

The all new, redesigned Summoner's Rift in League of Legends is finally here...sort of. Riot has announced that a live rollout (for limited game styles) is finally available for the 2015 Season.

The much talked about and highly-anticipated Summoner's Rift is finally here. Less than an hour ago, at 8:20 p.m. EST, Riot's Network Ops made the announcement in a subtle service status, telling players:

"The update to Summoner's Rift is live on the Team Builder queue and all bot modes! Once these modes test well, we'll be enabling the update on Normal and Custom queues at a later time. Thanks for participating in the updated Summoner's Rift rollout!"

This is major news within the gaming community, many members of which were left shocked when seeing the announcement.

Admittedly, this is a slow rollout, however, the amount of fanfare surrounding the latest update to the Rift has left fans in a frenzy for months.

This has been a big week for League of Legends for a number of other reasons as well.

The 2014 Season has drawn to a close and many expected that the Rift rollout would occur in time for the 2015 Season. Not to mention, a major update, Patch 4.19, was released in advance of the redesign.

Though, Riot indicated that there would be no design updates in the patch, many wondered if this was, in fact, a precursor to the Rift rollout.

According to Game Zone, the update largely affected a few characters:

"The majority of changes in 4.19 are geared towards champions. The most noticeable is probably Singed who received a mini-rework. Meanwhile, the newly reborn Sion has also received a few tweaks. While a number of champions have been tweaked in the latest patch, below are a few of noteworthy changes."

What do you think about the latest announcement? Were you surprised that Riot didn't make a bigger fuss about their biggest update in years? Have you played the redesigned map?
