The Washington Redskins aren't only going to have to deal with their name change controversy going in to the second half of the NFL season. They now have a quarterback controversy, the Redskins starting quarterback, Robert Griffin III, will likely be number one on the rosters depth chart this week.

Billionaire owner Dan Snyder, who has been a Washington Redskins fan since childhood, says that the Redskins is the only name he has ever know and he doesn't plan to change it.
During a recent interview with USA Today Snyder explained his franchise's position in no uncertain terms:
"We will never change the name of the team."
This off the field issue isn't new, but after backup quarterback Colt McCoy's overtime victory over their rival Dallas Cowboys in Arlington, Texas, Monday night, there may be a quarterback controversy.
According to CBS DC Robert Griffin III is scheduled to start this weekend matchup against the Minnesota Vikings.
Coach Jay Gruden told Comcast Sports that as far as he is concerned there doesn't feel like there is any real controversy around McCoy's win:
"We went into training camp and did all of our OTAs with Robert Griffin as our starter.
"Robert's coming back, Robert's our starter. That's not going to change.
"I haven't varied off of that, waivered off of that in my mind...So when Robert's ready, he'll be ready to go."
With half the season left and a three and five record the Washington Redskins aren't out of it yet.
If they can figure out their quarterback situation and continue to play teams close they may be able to save their season.
