Jeff Goldblum, shirtless, is trying to sell you light bulbs to illuminate your non-famous couch potato man friend.
The commercial falls perfectly in line with Goldblum’s Café Caryle performances this fall with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra. The Tim and Eric Awesome Show creators crafted a retro hip infomercial of sorts for GE complete with a Home Depot click-through for ease in purchasing.
Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim are no stranger to corporate dollars. In the past they have crafted remarkably weird ads for Old Spice and Absolut Vodka with Zach Galifianakis.
This time, Heidecker and Wareheim feature Goldblum tickling the ivories in a hot tub wearing a gold emblazoned short shorts. Thankfully included are screenshots on how to perfect your lighting with your millennial iPhone Wink app and Goldblum’s screen-printed face.
Entitled “Enhance Your Lighting,” the two minute commercial stars Goldblum as famous person Terry Quatrro as he sells light bulbs to an “unremarkable nobody.” The bulbs, which last over 20 years, can be installed while painting and only cost 14.95. A price Goldblum, or Quatrro, considers to be “less than what I tip the guy who tips people for me.”
Take a look below at the bulbs Quattro guarantees to “kiss your horribly lit, non-successful life good bye.” There is even room for one more in the hot tub.
