Woody Allen, Jeff Goldblum, Molly Ringwald, Rita Wilson, Buster Poindexter (a.k.a. David Johansen, New York Dolls), John Pizzarelli & Jessica Molaskey and Steve Tyrell all are set to open Café Carlyle's Fall 2014 season.
Portlandia's most inert neighbor, Jeff Goldblum takes us on a jazz ride with his band The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra September 16–20. The show marks both his Café debut, as well as the band’s New York premiere. Mastermind behind a certain dinosaur junior lyric, Goldblum performs regularly at Los Feliz’s Rockwell Table and Stage.
Rita Wilson, better known from It’s Complicated, Sleepless in Seattle, CBS’ The Good Wife and HBO’s Girls, will make her debut as well, from September 24 to October 4.
John Hughes maiden Molly Ringwald will turn jazzercise with her debut in "An Evening with Molly Ringwald" on October 7-18.
A founding member of the New York Dolls, David Johansen's "Buster Poindexter" will be featured in a limited, five-night engagement October 22 to 25.
There’s also the husband-and-wife duo John Pizzarelli and Jessica Molaskey. The duo makes its annual pilgrimage to the Carlyle on October 28 to November 22.
Lastly, Steve Tyrell will celebrate his 10th anniversary of performing in Café Carlyle during the holidays; his five-week engagement runs November 25 to December 31.
With the longest run of the lineup, Woody Allen will continue to perform Monday nights with the Eddy Davis New Orleans Jazz Band (running from September 15 to December 15).
