Girls' Generation-TTS has earned their second consecutive No. 1 hit on the World Albums Chart with their second mini EP Holler, and their Holler music video clocks in with 4 million YouTube hits and counting.
The trio marks the third Korean act, and the first female one, to earn multiple chart-toppers on World Albums.
"All those high expectations are kind of what motivated me and grounded me to making better music," said Girls’ Generation member Seohyun on the pressure to create another chart-topping album. "I was happy I could choose the music wisely. I'll be thankful for people wanting to listen instead of just watching."
Holler marks their second World Album chart topper in 2 1/2 years when their debut EP Twinkle came in at No. 1.
The sophomore release Holler also debuts at No. 11 on the Heatseekers Albums Chart and the EP's title track starts at No. 6 on World Digital Songs.
Their latest makes the TTS girls the third K-pop artist to land multiple No. 1s on the World Album chart. Preceding them is boy band B.A.P with three — 2013 EPs One Shot and Badman and 2014's full-length album First Sensibility — and singer/rapper G-Dragon with two: 2012's One of a Kind EP and 2013's Coup D'etat, Pt. 1.
