Aaron Hernandez Murder Trial Fiancee Charged With Perjury, Former Teammate Says Interview Was Misleading

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez has a lot of support from friends and family. In fact, prosecutors in his murder trial are alleging that his fiancée Shayanna Jenkins lied under oath about information pertaining to the death of Odin Lloyd. She has pled not guilty to perjury during the investigation of Lloyd's murder. Meanwhile, former teammate Kevin Faulk thinks Hernandez is innocent, and even if he is guilty, is in need of love and prayer. He even told CNN so. The problem, he says, is that they only showed a tiny clip of what he said, and took his words out of context in order to mislead the public.

Kevin Faulk, a retired NFL running back who used to play with Hernandez for the Patriots, says that he spoke with CNN reporters, who only used a portion of what he said, and therefore misconstrued their meaning (via Nola.com):

"(CNN) only gave 45 seconds of my interview which was an hour and a half long... Well, like I told them, one of the questions I was getting asked was, do I believe he could have killed the person? And my immediate response... Well if you push anyone to a certain point I think anyone could be considered a killer, you know if you push them to that point..."

While his friend tried to defend his character, Hernandez' fiancée may have outright lied to protect him (via USA Today):

"In Tuesday's filing, prosecutors claim they have direct evidence that contradicts Jenkins' testimony 'concerning how, why and the manner in which she removed the items from the home.' It says the same of her claim that she didn't attempt to hide the box when taking it from the house and that she hadn't spoken to Ernest Wallace after Lloyd's killing."
