Jobless evangelist Mark Jackson is taking the gospel to the streets lately after getting fired back in May. The ex-head coach of the Golden State Warriors was recently spotted preaching the Golden Rule. Jackson, who is actually a minister in LA, participated in a worldwide call for every Christian to go out and spread the gospel for at least an hour on July 5. With Jackson so fervently preaching on the street corner, did his faith rub people on the Warriors the wrong way? It will be interesting to see if new coach Steve Kerr is so enthusiastic about discussing religion in the locker room.
Mark Jackson is working for the Lord full-time now, since he doesn't work for the NBA's Golden State Warriors anymore. Some have speculated whether his change in employment came as a result of him making some people uncomfortable with his openness regarding his religious beliefs (via Washington Post):
"Whatever the reason(s) for his ouster, there is little doubting Jackson's sincere devotion to his faith. Further evidence of that came recently in a video shot on Saturday, which shows Jackson preaching on a Los Angeles street corner. Jackson and his wife are founders of, and pastors in, True Love Worship Center International, which is based in that city."
As pastor of True Love Worship Center International, Jackson and his wife called upon fellow Christians to follow suit a few weeks ago (via TMZ):
"Instead of barking at players to get back on D ... the former Golden State Warriors coach and several members of his church were barking at sinners on a street corner on Saturday.
"It was World Vision Day, which Jackson himself described as ... 'A call 4 every Believer 2 hit the Streets n Preach for 1 hr.'"
