Showtime ‘Ray Donovan’ New Episode Preview: ‘X-Men Origins’ Liev Schreiber Talks Series Return [SPOILERS]

Ray Donovan is back. The hit new Showtime series starring Jon Voight and Liev Schrieber returned last week with its second season. Recently, X-Men: Wolverine Origins Liev Schrieber opened up about returning to the role.

The official plot synopsis for tonight’s all new episode, titled “Uber Ray,” reads:

“Ray forces Mickey to return to Los Angeles, where the city's FBI chief puts Mickey on parole, and takes full credit for finding and shooting Sully Sullivan. Meanwhile, a Boston reporter investigates Sully's death; and Ray gets a parole officer to take over Mickey's case.”

Liev Schreiber recently spoke to Hollywood Life about playing Ray:

“It’s hard. He’s a dark character, and I’ve never been someone who got lost in his character. I never characterized myself in that way. But there’s something unavoidable about going through that every day, 14 hours a day, and I’m just grateful that I have my family to go home to. And kids sort of brighten things up.”

It was the stability of TV that persuaded Schreiber to take the role, as he added:

"I think one of the things that appealed to me about doing television is that you’re in the same place for a longer period of time, and so your children can be consistent with a curriculum and be consistent in their social groups…I think that’s important for kids as they grow up.”

Check out the all new episode of Ray Donovan premieres tonight at 9:00 p.m. Eastern on Showtime.
