Tokyo Girl's Style took to the fans with a crowd sourced shenanigan to unite the world by waving synthetic sunflowers as one during their first American performance at the J-Pop Summit Festival this weekend in San Francisco.
Aptly titled, “Let’s All Join Hands to Make Sunflowers Bloom Girls’ Style in San Francisco," the funded campaign, via Tokyo Girls' Update CROWD, will provide for the expenses of: artificial sunflowers that will be distributed during their performance, staff for said flowers, recording and editing the live San Francisco shindig and site management of the post performance meeting featuring a shorter live version of the performance in Japan.
Tokyo Girls' appearance comes stock with an English version of their hit Himawari to Hoshikuzu" (Sunflowers and Stardust) to which every member of the audience can wave their sunflower and unite as one.
Or something like that, at least.
Their stint in San Fran will also showcase their films, Count Five To Dream Of You, directed by Yuki Yamato and Kotodama – Spiritual Curse, set to premiere at the Japan Film Festival in San Francisco this month.
Pledge or “Seeds” start at $19. Prizes for the fan funders include: 5 rare photos to be taken during their San Francisco performance, 10 rare San Francisco photos of the teenage member of your choice: Ayano Konishi, Miyu Yamabe, Hitomi Arai, Yuri Nakae, or Mei Shouji, DVD of the San Francisco performance, co-produced by SPACE SHOWER TV Plus, gifts purchased and signed by members of Tokyo Girls' Style, and the chance to distribute the sunflowers and take a commemorative photo with the band and be featured in the DVD.
Won't you help these five teenage J-Pop princesses realize their dream of a "sea of sunflowers?"
