Rapper Drake hosted the 22nd annual ESPY Awards which aired this Wednesday. His monologue was rather funny, as well as a few skits which showed off his acting skills. He even got a reaction out of LA Clipper Blake Griffin when he made a joke about racist owner Donald Sterling. Drake's jokes on the long-running sports awards show even drew laughs from the Rock, Dwayne Johnson, and collaborations with Lance Stephenson and former rival Chris Brown.
One of the big surprises of the ESPY's was a skit involving Blake Griffin and Chris Brown, who has feuded in the past with Drake (via New York Daily News):
"Their friendship comes as surprise after their infamous bottle-tossing altercation, which was highly speculated at the time to be about their shared ex, Rihanna.
"Drake said in an interview that he didn't think he and Brown would be able to get past their issues.
"Drake has certainly changed his tune especially since he reportedly split again with RiRi this past May after it was believed that they had rekindled their romance."
Drake's opening monologue, however, was the biggest moment of the night. When he brought up controversial Clippers owner Donald Sterling, Blake Griffin couldn't help but laugh, even though he realized it wasn't PC (via E Online):
"We're just a couple hundred yards from Staples Center, which also happens to be as close as Donald Sterling is allowed to get."
He had a nice one about LeBron James' move to Cleveland as well:
"Me personally, I think it makes sense financially. You know what $40 million gets you in Miami? A really nice house. You know what $40 million gets you in Cleveland? Cleveland. All of it. You get the whole thing."
