According to magnamags, Bollywood director Karan Johar snaged the rights to produce a hindi version of tearjerker The Fault In Our Stars, the heartbreaking real-life love story of teenagers battling cancer a la John Greene's 2012 novel of the same name. Word is Alia Bhatt is rumored to cast as Shailene Woodley's character, Hazel who battled with thyroid cancer since she was 12.
Bhatt posted to her Instagram account a pic of Greene's novel with the caption, "My new love..Fault in our stars!!"
If the rumors are true, The Fault In Our Stars would be Bhatt's third joint with Dharma Productions, including 2 States and Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania.
Johar is dipping his toes in American Hollywood muck right now, with rumors of him purchasing the rights to the Jonah Hill and (delish) Channing Tatum version of 21 Jump Street directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, via The Indian Express.
Bollywoodlife further confirms the movie's existence with Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra set to play Hill and Tatum.
