Everyone in WWE is getting hurt! Bad News Barrett is out with a separated shoulder. Cesaro was almost blinded a few weeks ago. Daniel Bryant is out indefinitely with a neck injury that required surgery, and he might need to go back under the knife because his shoulder might be screwed up as well. And if he doesn't slow down, the chosen one Seth Rollins might soon find himself on this list. He seemed to hurt his knee during a tag team match this Monday on RAW. No update yet whether it is an angle or legitimate, or how serious it might be. However, if he is healthy, maybe he should take steps to stay that way.
Everyone loves the incredible high-flying maneuvers that today's wrestlers bring to the table. But are they putting a shorter shelf-life on their careers by putting their bodies through excessive punishment? Everyone jokes that Hulk Hogan was never a great wrestler, but he is almost as strong and agile today as he was in 1985 because he knew his limits.
If Seth Rollins is the guy, he may want to keep his game on the ground at least until he gets a few titles on his resume (via Bleacher Report):
"You want proof? Look at Daniel Bryan's current situation. Bryan worked incredibly hard for well over a decade to reach the top of the wrestling business, eventually winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at this year's WrestleMania XXX event.
"Sadly, a serious neck injury forced him to vacate the title just two months later."
Speaking of Bryan, he may need additional surgery, meaning his time table for return is up in the air (via Bleacher Report):
"With the shoulder, it's more complicated, as a cervical nerve issue could create issues in the shoulder as well. If the problems are neurological, caused by the impingement of the herniated disc, it should resolve from just the treatment there. There is likely other traumatic injury, such as a rotator cuff strain or a labrum tear that could be fixed in order to make the rehabs concurrent."
It is admirable to want to give the fans the best show possible, but they will understand if some of these Superstars sacrifice some of their more dangerous moves and manage to have careers that last longer than five years.
