Fox ‘Gotham’ Spoilers: Joker Casting Easter Eggs In Each Episode of Batman Prequel [RUMORS] [DC COMICS]

SPOILER ALERT: No one can can argue that Heath Ledger didn’t do an amazing job as the Joker in The Dark Knight. Where Ledger’s act is going to be a tough one to follow, the good folks at Gotham are not shying away from the challenge. It seems they have enlisted a city full of possible replacements to play a young Joker in the new Batman prequel. The new Fox series will reportedly send in the clowns, with a new Joker Easter egg in each episode.

Gotham show-runner Bruno Heller recently opened up to Entertainment Weekly about the new show, taking on the Joker after Heath Ledger’s death:

“I’ve written scenes for Julius Caesar and Marc Anthony and Cleopatra. So while that is a serious and valid note, you can’t get into doing this without going there. That was a wonderful performance and--apart from everything else--wonderful make-up. And we should try to live up to that. It will be a different character. It’s certainly going to be more Heath Ledger than Cesar Romero. But like I say, all of these people are real people with feelings and emotions and history and parents. I just build from that.”

So who could possible fill Heath Ledger's knife wielding shoes? That is still unknown, but it turns out Gotham will a whole town full of clowns to choose from. It has been reported that each episode will feature a possible Joker cameo. Bleeding Cool reports on the deck full of Jokers, writing:

“Basically, every episode in the first season will introduce a character that might be a future Joker, each emphasising aspects of the character’s iconography, a card sharp, a flower seller, a clown, or just a guy with a very big grin.

“All relatively unknown actors. All potentially a Joker. But only one of them being the actual Clown Prince Of Crime.”

Hey, how about using this handsome fellow for a potential Joker:
