CM Punk, just days away from the expiration of his WWE contract, is looking ahead. While the most desperate of marks say their prayers and eat their vitamins in hopes that the last six months was a giant ploy, the rest of us are pretty sure his walkout was genuine. Now, after months of binge-watching TV and attending Cubs games and Blackhawks matches, he is ready to get back to work. Not in the ring, but he's going to do something. According to the latest buzz on Twitter, the retired wrestler is going to start a band (maybe). With his wife back at WWE after rumors that she was pregnant, Punk has got to figure out something to pass the time. And don't miss the action following WWE Main Event tonight on the WWE Network, when Punk will be the subject of a brand new documentary, debuting at 9pm Eastern.
According to CM Punk's Twitter account, he is about to start on an ambitious project (via Daily DDT):
"Starting a band, a podcast, and a fire. One of these is true. (Okay, two)."
Punk aims to stay busy, it seems, in a non-wrestling capacity for the foreseeable future. With plenty of money and a variety of interests, only the lure of the unique spotlight that pro wrestling provides would be enough to bring him back in the future (via Post And Courier):
"If and when Punk chooses to return to WWE, there's little doubt that he would be immediately pushed to the top and back in the main-event, world championship picture.
"Punk (Phil Brooks), 35, is known to have a lukewarm relationship with WWE exec and power broker Triple H, whose view of what a world champion should look like doesn't match that of performers such as Punk and Daniel Bryan, but more along the lines of 'true heavyweights' such as John Cena, Randy Orton and Batista."
