Is Dwayne Wade mad at former teammate LeBron James for leaving the Miami Heat? He says no, but maybe he's just being polite. After four NBA Finals Appearances in four years and two championships, James has decided to take his family home to Cleveland. Born and raised in the Forest City, James left in 2010 in search of some rings, and he found some. But with his wife Savannah pregnant with their third child, and perhaps a desire to pad the old bank account, King James is headed home to a max contract with the Cavs.
Dwayne Wade, part of the "Big Three" of the Miami Heat, expressed disappointment at the loss of his teammate, but wished him well on his future endeavors (via USA Today):
"As a friend and a teammate, I am sad to see my brother LeBron leave to begin a new journey. In 2010, we decided to come together all for one goal - to win championships and we succeeded. We were friends when we first joined the league and created an unbreakable bond the past four years. Our collaboration will always be very special to me both personally and professionally."
Some folks anticipated a possible backlash from Cleveland fans if he returned, but so far the reception has been warm. The reason why probably has to do with LeBron's true nature. His coming home is a sign of a man ready to be the person he truly is underneath the cool façade of "King James" (via Bleacher Report):
"Bron Bron is a person. King James is a myth, an image and, let's be honest, not a very apt one... Kings don't reach out to other kings to work on their sword play. They don't fret that rulers before them don't recognize their kingliness. Even the kindliest ones do what they do to stay in power, not because they want to spread happiness."
Perhaps the move will result in happiness for James and his family, but the question now is, will it result in a championship run for the Cleveland Cavaliers?
