Word has it that Jessica Simpson was hoping to make her wedding to fiancé Eric Johnson the celebrity ceremony of the century--trying to get the day as perfect of her body in her latest Instagram updates. According to the latest tabloid gossip news updates, however, that definitely didn't happen. Jessica's mother, Tina ,was reportedly the biggest obstacle to everyone's enjoyment. Though the couple is said to have nearly split during prenupt negotiations only days before the scheduled date. Let's hope little sister Ashlee and boyfriend Evan's mother Diana Ross do a better job at putting the younger Simpson's nuptials together--not the Jessica's wedding disaster set a very high bar.
It seems that Jessica could have really used a fourth year to plan her wedding to former NFL footballer Eric Johnson.
According to the latest reports by Star magazine for the July 21 print edition, Jessica thought she had all her ducks in a row going into the July 4, wedding weekend:
"It may have seemed like a harmonious family affair, with dad Joe officiating, mom Tina walking her down the aisle, her son Ace, as a ring bearer, daughter Maxwell as a flower girl and her sister Ashlee, as one of her 14 bridesmaids; but it was anything but."
"Jessica warned her parents that they had to get along and not embarrass her at her wedding.
"But Tina made it clear to everyone she was furious that Jessica chose her father to organize the three-day event, which included a Fourth of July party and a Sunday brunch.
"Jessica had finally had it and told her mother that it was her wedding and to stop moaning."
To make matters worse, Joe didn't exactly egg her on, but the rumored homosexual did relish in her discomfort says the source:
"Joe knows full well that Jessica favors him over her mom, and plays that up a little to get back at Tina for how he feels she treated him during the divorce."
The confidential informant went on to explain to Star that whole wedding almost came apart just days prior to the event on account of fierce prenuptial negotiations:
"They were first going to get married on 11/11/11 and had a prenupt, but that got thrown out when she got pregnant for the first time.
"Then they did another one for a wedding in Hawaii on 12/12/12, but then she got pregnant again.
"This time Eric wanted a more favorable agreement because he takes care of their kids and has given up his career.
"But Jessica has seen what a disaster her parents' marriage turned into and really wanted to protect herself.
"They finally agreed shortly before the wedding."
Surprisingly enough, they did not have lawyers exchange their actual vows for them...traditionalists.
