Brodus Clay must have been the valedictorian of WWE's charm school. The super cool Funkasaurus has not uttered one ill word about his release from the company. One of nearly a dozen superstars who got the axe last month, Clay got fired due to some serious budget cuts related to the early failings of the WWE Network and a less than desirable license renewal with NBC Universal. Clay, however, is thriving outside of the WWE spotlight, and is looking forward to swimming with dolphins off the coast of Japan.
As an intelligent, ambitious and charismatic young man, Clay is the ultimate positive thinker. If he ever got hired back, he could form a stable of wrestlers/motivational speakers with Bo Dallas and Diamond Dallas Page.
Clay has put on a brave face, at least, for the press. He says the fan support and outrage over his dismissal is encouraging, though he claims to be happy to have some freedom after experiencing the corporate grind of WWE (via Wrestle Zone):
"It's been a lot bigger of a reaction than I thought it would be. I thought I could go quietly into the night, but it's kind of cool to be relevant after the machine (WWE) steps away. I have more freedom and more opportunities, and when you don't have big brother watching you, you can pretty much do whatever you want, so I'm going to take full advantage of it."
No word yet on when he plans to travel to Japan to save the dolphins from illegal net fishing (via Classicalite):
"Meanwhile Clay, one of the more surprising cuts, has plans to swim with dolphins in Japan.
"Clay also says he is interested in continue a career in wrestling, although he is very serious about the dolphins."
