Dallas has got to be praying for the safety of Cowboys' quarterback, Tony Romo. After two back surgeries in as many years, the veteran QB is aiming to improve on Dallas' 8-8 record they seem to be stuck at. The main thing he has had to do is take extra care not to put unnecessary stress on his back, which means he has had to give up his favorite hobby, golf. Does this mean that Tony Romo has to give up the game for good?
According to Romo, he hasn't played golf in about a year and a half. Since it's one of his favorite activities outside of football, you might assume he's upset about this. He claims, however, that there is no price too large to pay for doing what you love. And Romo's first love is football (via CBS Sports):
"You've got to get yourself healthy then figure out where you're at and go from there for everything," Romo said. "It's not just golf. It's a way you live life.
"I don't think about it as [giving up] golf. It's just life. You want to give yourself the best chance to succeed on the football field."
This might not be enough on its own, but with a prudent workout schedule on top of the prescribed rehab might be enough to keep him tip top (via Dallas News):
"The real question is ... will he stay healthy enough to play all 16 games. If he does, with the improved offensive line, this has a chance to be a very good offense. If you're a marquee, high-dollar NFL quarterback, anything you do off the field is going to be news in your market. I just think this is a smart and pragmatic move. With that back and at age 34, you can't be playing golf regularly."
