The Icon Sting may finally be ready to return to professional wrestling. The last holdout from WCW has been in talks to join WWE after an entire career of dodging Vince McMahon. After months of contract negotiations fans are dying to know if Sting will be making a television appearance any time soon. And now the mysterious grappler has added fuel to the fire with a cryptic message via Twitter that simply read "7.14.14". No other communication has been made regarding that date and Sting, but it does fall this Monday, leading to speculation that he will make his long-awaited WWE debut on Monday Night RAW.
Of course, skeptics are saying that it likely has nothing to do with a television appearance, but rather his involvement in the forthcoming WWE 2K15 video game (via Cage Side Seats):
"It's far more likely that July 14 will come and a simple announcement will be made regarding his involvement in the WWE 2K15 video game coming out in October. Remember, news got out not long ago that he was going to be a featured star, and now a formal announcement could be made."
Then again, there's no harm in dreaming. The possibility that one of the most beloved wrestlers of all time may finally join the biggest wrestling promotion in the history of the industry makes this week's episode of RAW a must-watch situation (via Yahoo Sports):
"Of course, Sting's tweet could just be a diversion, but I'd advise you to turn into Raw on Monday just to make sure. All I hope is that it's not to announce something boring like a DVD release or WWE Network program. This is Sting in WWE, it should be a big deal and he should be packaged as the wrestling God that he is and just to be exploited for merchandise."
