Jonah Hill's 22 Jump Street sidekick, Channing Tatum, has had enough trouble dealing with the rumors that his wife, Jenna Dewan, wants to divorce him, to reportedly deal with Alex Pettyfer's bullmess this time around. It turns out that the only actor that the bi-sexual Magic Mike stripper would have liked to fire from the original flesh-fest reporetedly isn't being invited back for the XXL sequel, despite his begging. According the comedian Gabriel Iglesias, Dallas Buyers Club Oscar winner Matthew McConaughey is quitting the franchise, regardless of being invited back or not. Apparently the Dazed and Confused star has too much fame and money to return to the assless leather chaps, though he may just still be too weak to dance.
Word has it that Alex Pettyfer is ready for another fifteen minutes of fame, now that Channing Tatum is gearing up for production on another Magic Mike movie.
Apparently, Alex did a little too much figurative ass showing and not enough literally romp shaking for Tatum's taste; according to the July 21, print edition of OK! Magazine Alex should have tried harder to get along with his boss:
"Alex Pettyfer is begging actor/producer/writer Channing Tatum to give him a role in the Magic Mike sequel; but given their past, things aren't looking good.
"The pair fought like buff, well-oiled cats and dogs on the original set, and sources say Alex, 24, is the only original star not yet signed up for the new film."
An insider told the magazine that if Alex really wants the part he is probably going to have to get down on his knees and beg for it:
"Alex is dying to reprise his role, but Channing is on the fence...It's going to take a lot of sucking up for Alex to get his part back."
Ironically enough, Matthew McConaughey sounds like he will have to be begged back if he is to participate in the Magic Mike XXL with all the rest on the boys.
During an interview with The Dish, comedic actor Gabriel "Fluffy" Iglesias revealed that though he was returning, he had heard McConaughey had better things to do (via IndieWire):
"Word has it that Matt's probably not going to be involved, because he's worth a lot of money now--that whole Oscar thing--so, but yeah, I've signed on for part two."
Booo.
