The Hyde Park Jazz Festival has announced the complete lineup for its eighth annual festival on September 27 and 28. Headliners include the Dee Alexander Quartet with saxophonist Oliver Lake; the J.D. Allen Quartet; flutist Nicole Mitchell; and pianist Craig Taborn in his first solo performance in Chicago.
This year the Jazz Fest will present more than 30 bands on 14 stages throughout Chicago's Hyde Park neighborhood. Local, national and international jazz talents will perform for an anticipated crowd of more than 20,000 people.
According to critic Peter Margasak of the Chicago Reader, "...no other fest showcases the breadth of Chicago jazz better."
