‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg Begs For Firing with Jenny McCarthy; Sherri Shepherd Divorces Baby; Rosie O’Donnell Returns? [NEWS UPDATE]

It's a rag-tag rodeo over at ABC's The View right now as cast members--coming and going--try to figure out what their next play is going to be. Word has it that Jenny McCarthy and Sherri Shepherd have both been fired from the show, while it was comedienne Whoopi Goldberg whose was practically begging to be terminated. The former all-nude Playboy playmate will always be able to get a gig getting topless for some sad fellow with extra singles--even if it is just her New Kids on the Block boyfriend, Donnie Wahlberg, stuffing old crackled Washingtons into her tired old G-strings. Shepherd on the other hand is not so lucky. Rumor has it that sacked Sherri is looking to divorce her un-born baby right along with husband Sally Lamar in lieu of making the substantial child support payments. And to top it all off former co-host Rosie O'Donnell is returning to the show after already having been fired once back in 2007.

Word has it that Whoopi Goldberg, literally the only View co-host to be returning from the previous season, wants off the ABC day-time talk show so badly that she can't hardly even stand it.

According to Star the sizable paycheck isn't enough to get Goldberg past the fact that she was duped into signing on to the show in the first place:

"Whoopi signed for a four-year contract that earns $5 million a year...[but] she only did it because the network said they were going to help her get a late-night show after Jimmy Kimmel.

"But once she signed the contract, they dumped the late-night plan.

"She's miserable...and says so."

Sherri Shepherd on the other hand it going to truly miss her steady payday not that she is going to be battling husband Lamar Sally in court for control of her net worth.

The couple have a baby on the way thanks to a little help form a surrogate, but according to TMZ as far as Sherri's concerned the whole thing can get flushed down the toilet:

"Sherri Shepherd does not want anything to do with her unborn surrogate baby...because she believes her estranged husband defrauded her into having the kid in the first place so he could get child support...this according to multiple sources connected with the couple.

"The baby was conceived with Lamar's sperm, but NOT Sherri's egg...Sherri wants a judge to rule she has no parental rights or responsibilities--which would shut the door to child support."

Aww, that baby is going to be so loved.

On a more positive note, Rosie O'Donnell is all set to return to The View, despite any animosity that might still linger over her wine filled internet tirades at the time of her 2007 dismissal.

Although it could be argued that the picture used by ABC to announce the news on Twitter is punishment enough for any discretion:
