Don't worry Real Housewives of Atlanta fans; queen bee NeNe Leakes hasn't been fired and won't be leaving the show for an extended run on Glee anytime soon. The former Dancing with the Stars contestant tried to put the internet gossip rumors--most of which NeNe started--the she was leaving the show to rest, but all the Twitter update did instead was prompt some fans to declare they would be boycotting Bravo if she was not allowed to return to the series. Thankfully all the ladies have decided to return--even reunion recap pugilists Kenya Moore and Porsha Williams. One-time regular Apollo Nida, husband to Phaedra Parks, on the other hand will probably not be returning to the show. The convicted felon's comings-and-going are bound to be restricted now that he has been sentenced to eight years in Georgia prison. It's hardly seems worth mentioning given the circumstances, but Nida's house was also reportedly sold at a public auction due to his failure to pay taxes on the property.
NeNe Leakes plan to squash all the various rumors that she had allowed to flourish during the Bravo Real Housewives of Atlanta hiatus seemed to backfire, at least, at little bit.
Leakes tried to set the record straight via Twitter the other day when she got all potty-mouthed about the Real Housewife rumors that were circulating around her:
"I am NOT coming back 2 RHOA because I was fired, NO I quit, NO I wanted more money, NO they cut my salary & yes all this is BULLSHIT"
According to Wet Paint however, that did harm than good for some of her social media acolytes:
"Last week, NeNe tweeted...which most fans took as her way of dispelling rumors about an impending exit from the show, but left others scratching their heads.
"Those who fell into the latter category took to Twitter to express their unconditional support of NeNe, claiming that they would boycott Bravo if she were to leave the show.
"NeNe retweeted fans who voiced their concerns about her leaving, which ranged from friendly to fiercely protective."
Rumors that Apollo Nida will be too busy to return are completely true, however; unless Phaedra is planning to have the Bravo cameras accompany her on her prison visits (via LA Times):
"Apollo Nida, husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta star Phaedra Parks, was sentenced Tuesday to eight years in federal prison after pleading guilty in May to identity theft and fraud.
"He was also ordered to pay $2.3 million in restitution."
In an even sweeter turn of karmic justice Apollo was at least free long enough to see his house auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Though according to Radar Online you might be surprised at just how high the high-bid was/wasn't:
"[Apollo Nida's] house was sold at an auction for failure to pay the taxes on the property. He originally purchased the Atlanta home for only $9,000 in 2010.
"But on May 6 someone bought the 4,687-square-feet home for only $2,800!"
And it couldn't have happened to a nicer guy.
