Warning Spoiler Alert: NBC’s Hannibal is gearing up for it’s third season, and there are going to be some major “Changes.” Yes that last line refers both to last seasons bloody finale as well the rumors that David Bowie will be joining the cast. That is right, Goblin King himself might make his way out of the Labyrinth and into your living room. However, the show maybe a few faces short next season. When we last saw Will Graham and Jack Crawford, they were not doing so well. Could two of the series' tentpoles, Will and Jack really die?
Warning Book Spoilers Follow:
It should be noted that in the books Jack Crawford and Will Graham survive their encounters with Dr. Lector. However, series developer Bryan Fuller has announced that they are going to venture away from the events of the novels, telling TV Guide about what is about his Season 3 plans:
“Season 3 is going to be a lot of fun because it's going to be taking a lot of disparate elements from the novel Hannibal Rising and the novel Hannibal and mashing them up together as part of the thrust of the season. It's going to be fun to bastardize two novels into one sort of Frankenstein season. I will brace everybody right now: We're significantly changing the Hannibal origin story from Hannibal Rising….The books won't necessarily be in sequential order. We'll be hitting elements of each of them except Silence of the Lambs in the next season. My hope is that not only do we have a completely different Hannibal Lecter story in Season 3, but we will meet some of those great characters like Francis Dolarhyde and Lady Murasaki and weave them into the world in a unique way.”
That means that almost anyone can die, as Fuller adds:
“The basic structure revolving around the FBI will be less prominent in Season 3--at least for the first half of the season...Laurence [Fishburne] is also a very busy man. One of the wonders of this season is: Will Alana survive and will Jack Crawford survive? Will Abigail Hobbs survive? Those are things that are going to be revealed very slowly at the beginning of Season 3.”
However, we have to wait until Season 3 episode 2 to find out lives, as Fuller told Deadline:
“There is going to be a painful delay and you won’t find out in the first episode who survives. The first episode focuses on Dr. Bedelia du Maurier [Gillian Anderson].”
Meanwhile, David Bowie is rumored to join the series next season. Bowie was previously approved to be a part of the series before, but his schedule interfered. Now Fuller has put in another offer, as Collider reports [Via Screen Rant]:
"So, once we have our dates, we are going to ask again. I think the man walks on water, so I would love to be in his orbit, in some way... He's very aware [of the offer]. But he's also very, very busy,"
