On what turned out to be a solid night for RAW this week, Bret Hart returned to a WWE ring for the first time in almost two years. And he did it on sacred ground: Montreal. The Bell Centre is the site of the infamous 1997 "Screwjob" when WWE head honcho Vince McMahon allegedly arranged for Bret Hart to lose a title match against Shawn Michaels without Hart's knowledge. Hart got a great pop and then Damien Sandow came out, dressed as Bret Hart. Sandow's current gimmick of working as different characters was kind of annoying at first, but it's starting to gain some traction.
Bret Hart could have just come out and said a few words but he actually got to get a little action in against WWE's new favorite character actor, Damien Sandow (via Cage Side Seats):
"I half expected 'Sexy Boy' to hit the speakers to cut Bret off. Instead, his own theme played again and confusion gave way to the kind of joy you feel only when you get something you always wanted, even if you didn't know it."

The following night in Ottawa, Sandow did come out as Shawn Michaels to interrupt Hart's segment with Chris Jericho, after which Hart put Sandow in the Sharpshooter (via Cage Side Seats):
"You know what's really great about what Damien Sandow is currently doing? He can get away with saying anything. He can come out dressed as a young Bret Hart and tell an old Bret Hart right to his face that the Montreal Screwjob was a work and Canada is a third world country."
