Fan favorite Dolph Ziggler might be headed toward a disastrous storyline involving the love triangle between Fandango, Layla and Summer Rae. Summer Rae, the jilted former partner of Fandango, is now pursuing the Show Off, possibly to make Fandango jealous. If he survives this plot he could be on his way to a title run, either for the US Championship or the Intercontinental Championship.
Recently, Fandango's ex-squeeze Summer Rae interrupted a match between Fandango and Ziggler. She planted a big, juicy kiss on Dolph, who went on to beat a distracted Fandango. Hopefully the angle will resolve itself soon, either with Ziggler removing himself from the tangled web altogether or bringing Summer Rae along with him as his manager/partner (via Bleacher Report):
"Even more encouraging, Fandango was spotlighted on commentary during a match between Dolph Ziggler and Alberto Del Rio in order to further his feud with Ziggler (who could make the love triangle a love square, but that should be considered a downgrade for Dolph who, unlike Fandango, is a former world champion.)"
The one good thing Ziggs has going for him is his connection with a rabid and vocal fan base. Even if WWE Creative isn't behind him he could get a push like Daniel Bryan did last year. With the fans, known as the WWE Universe, able to voice their opinions via social media, Dolph Ziggler could rise above the fray due to a grass roots movement (via Bleacher Report):
"Fortunately for Ziggler, if Daniel Bryan is any indication, the more things change, the more they stay the same. If it's going to take an uprising for Ziggler to regain a world championship, reports of his demise aren't exaggerated. They're encouraging."
