The hardest working (and most electrifying) man in Hollywood, might just have some work on his hands. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson doesn’t take days off. The workaholic has starred in an almost unending list of films, including, G.I.Joe 2, The Fast and the Furious 6, Empire State, Snitch and Pain & Gain, and that was just for 2013. His busy schedule slowed down a little bit in 2014, with Hercules being released. However, it should be noted that Johnson took six months to transform his already buff body for the role. You can see the results for yourself in new trailer. Now it looks like Johnson is only going to get busy. He is rumored to star a upcoming DC Comics movie, as Justice League member Shazam’s rival Black Adam. Now it looks like The Rock will star in Robert Ludlum’s covert ops book turned film, The Janson Directive.
Dwayne Johnson might soon be showing Jason Bourne a thing or too. The Rock has been rumored to be up for the lead in Universal's upcoming film version of The Janson Directive.
The Janson Directive is based off the Robert Ludlum novel of the same name. The book was published posthumously in 2002, following Ludlum’s 2001 death. Ludlum, is also known for his The Bourne series, and dozens of other books that all start with T. The Amazon.com descrition for The Janson Directive reads:
“When billionaire philanthropist Peter Novak is kidnapped by a terrorist known as The Caliph, it’s up to Paul Janson--a legend in the notorious U.S. covert agency Consular Operations--to save him. But Janson’s rescue operation goes horribly wrong…and soon Janson is marked for death, the target of a ‘beyond salvage’ order issued from the highest level of the government. Now Janson is running for his life, pursued by Jessica Kincaid, a young agent of astonishing ability who can anticipate and counter his every move. To survive, Janson must outrace a conspiracy that has gone beyond the control of its originators. To win, he must counter it with a conspiracy of his own…”
