The Los Angeles Times is reporting that the much speculated iPhone 5S is set to be released in June 2013 according to a source in the business.
The California-based media outlet reports that Peter Misek of Jeffries, an investment banking firm, sent out a note Monday detailing some of his predictions for the next generation of the much coveted smartphone.
Misek, according to various reports, predicts the iPhone 5S will launch in June. There has not been much word on specs or features, but the appearance of the phone is set to change. According to Misek, the new Apple product is likely to boast up to six to eight new colors.
According The Times, Misek said the iPhone 5S will have a "super HD" camera and screen, an improved battery and will finally be enabled with Near-Field Communication technology, or NFC a feature that Android phones already have which allows to them easily share files simply by bumping each other.
Misek has been wrong in the past and reported falsely on a couple of Apple products most recently the iPad Mini and a rumored Apple television set. Despite of that, the San Francisco Chronicle points out he has been right in the past when he reported on the iPhone.
Rumors on the iPhone 5S started swirling around in the tail end of this year. A new report out of Asia suggested Apple is producing the next installment of the iPhone.The claim came from the Chinese-language publication the The Chronicle Times and was being circulated by the hit or miss website Digitimes.
Steven Shen of Digitimes said that the new Apple device is in the early developments of production and that Apple will start crafting the new iPhones in December.Even more recently unclear photographs of a possible prototype for the phone were recently leaked by a French tech website.
