There are some conflicting reports going around about the current health condition of Randy Travis. The legendary country singer is reportedly unable to speak and sing after suffering a stroke last year. If this report is true than Travis might not be performed ever again. Other reports state that he asked Dolly Parton to help him stage a comeback.
Randy Travis has fallen on hard time. Last year around this time Travis was hospitalized for a heart condition, that lead to him having a stroke and at least two surgeries on his brain. Now TMZ is reporting that the Travis may never sing again. The website is quoting an unnamed rep for Travis, saying:
“Although he can't speak now, the therapist said it wouldn't be out of the question for him to return to the stage ... possibly in 3 years.”
TMZ also quotes an anonymous source, adding: “The singer can't form a sentence and it's unclear if he is even lucid enough to follow a conversation.”
However, The National Enquire (note the source) is telling another story. The Enquirer is quoting an anonymous source who claims that Travis is trying to mount a comeback with the help of Dolly Parton:
“He told Dolly he feels lucky to be alive and that he wants to go back to doing what he does best--singing. “But he’s worried he’s washed up and that country fans have forgotten about him.
“Dolly told Randy, ‘If I had a nickel for every time people counted me out, I could build another Dollywood.’ She promised Randy she would help him out any way she can and even invited him to tour with her.”
