The return of Daniel Bryan to the ring was enough to bring tears to the eyes of grown men at last week's Money In The Bank. The ensuing showdown when he was interrupted by Bo Dallas might lead to an interesting program over the next year or so, but in the immediate sense it helped WWE reassert Dallas' status as a heel. Speaking of lending a helping hand, Chris Jericho's surprise return on RAW the next night has more than just intrinsic value.
Bryan's absence, along with CM Punk, Batista and now Bad News Barrett, has left WWE a tad thin at the top of the card. His return can kill three birds with one stone. Not only can he help cover some of the holes in the main event scene, he can carry on an interesting feud with the Wyatt Family. And the feud with the Wyatts can give Bray enough a genuine distraction from his title journey. His run is inevitable, but there is too much going on around the title scene with all three members of the Shield eyeing the belt. Jericho gives Wyatt something to do while Rollins, Reigns and Ambrose kill each other over who gets to take the Championship off John Cena.
Daniel Bryan is still a fan favorite, but his extended absence due to injury has left a huge hole in the roster. Jericho provides some much needed relief to the main event (via Bleacher Report):
"His return is the equivalent of a multiple-time All-Star signing a mid-season deal to rejoin a basketball team whose top scorer is on the disabled list. It's not often WWE can bring aboard a man of his stature who isn't miles past his prime."
Meanwhile, Bryan might have a mini-feud with Bo Dallas when he gets back from rehab. It might not be the best route to go, but it will certainly be entertaining if they go that way (via Wrestling News Source):
"And don't get me started on the actual sixty seconds of silence Bo gave Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett on Monday Night Raw. Bravo. Not only to Bo for sticking to the full minute, but also WWE for not cutting him off... Dallas flashed his true side during the Money in the Bank pre-show. The fans finally saw Bo lose the hard smile, that is overly done to perfection, when Daniel Bryan rudely called him a Bo-ner."
