Wade Barrett, now known as Bad News Barrett, won't be seeing action for the foreseeable future. After sustaining a separated shoulder at the hands of Jack Swagger, the imposing British wrestler may be out for months. Though his surgery was successful, he will need ample recovery time and rehab. The injured Superstar, sadly, has been stripped of his Intercontinental Title, much like his former rival Daniel Bryan.
It could be months before the Winds of Change blow by our TV sets again, for the Bare Knuckle Brawler Wade Barrett went under the knife last week (via Cage Side Seats):
"Bad News Barrett underwent a ligament reconstruction in his shoulder, as well as a distal clavicle resection, where the end of the collar bone is shaved off. The operation went very well, he's resting comfortably."
Don't worry about Barrett, though. He has the full support of WWE Creative. He's got the look, the moves, and the mic skills of a classic wrestling legend. And he'll continue to get pushed when he's healthy because they believe in him. Unlike, say, Dolph Ziggler, which is sad because he is also fantastic in the ring as well as on the mic (via Sporting News):
"I scoff at the notion of politics in wrestling. Scoff, I say! Next you'll tell me that these athletic contests are not being waged under completely truthful pretenses. However, as to the specifics of the question, I don't think it's a double standard. Yeah, Ziggler is getting jacked around, but wrestling is a sport built on the blood of the previous generation, and it's always a fight to create new stars. Basically, it's the snake that consumes its own tail, as Barrett is showing."
