Nothing says independence like a few million dollars. Check the report below to see how just how big the July 4th Mega Millions lottery drawing is before you spend another dime on fireworks. Meanwhile, get the latest info on last week’s big winner.
The new Mega Millions lottery totals for the July 4th drawing have reached a whopping $20 million.
The totals are so low because a winning ticket was sold for last week’s $33 million dollar drawing. However, at the time of this report, no one has come forward to claim that prize.
The official Mega Millions website is now reporting on the store that sold the winning ticket:
“(AUSTIN) – A $33 million winning ticket for the Mega Millions drawing held on Friday, June 27, was sold at the Moulton Grocery & Market located at 100 S. Lavaca in Moulton, Texas. For selling the winning Quick Pick ticket, the retailer is eligible for a $330,000 bonus. The cash value of the jackpot is $19,241,983.
“The winning numbers for the drawing are 15-29-31-46-64, Mega Ball 10.
“‘If you purchased a Mega Millions ticket in Moulton, check your numbers because you might be a millionaire,’ said Gary Grief, executive director of the Texas Lottery.
“Texas has had 10 other Mega Millions jackpot prize winners. Mega Millions players win the jackpot by correctly matching five numbers from a field of 75, plus the Mega Ball number from a field of 15. Odds of winning the jackpot prize are one in 259 million and overall odds of winning any prize are one in 15.
“The ticket holder has 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim the prize. The deadline may be extended for a period of time for certain “eligible” military personnel.“
