[SPOILER ALERT] The CW’s Arrow now has its very first legacy villain. The show is reviving the moniker of the late Count Vertigo, with Blacklist star Peter Stormare replacing Fringe’s Seth Gabel’s version of the character, who died during Season 2. Stormare recently joined the cast of NBC’s The Blacklist as the mysterious Berlin. Stormare will play Werner Zytle, also known as the New 52 version of the iconic Green Arrow villain. The new Vertigo is reported to make his grand debut in the first episode of Season 3. Meanwhile, Stephen Amell is offering up some “spoilers” for the first two episodes.
Are you getting that dizzy feeling again? That is because Count Vertigo is back. The CW series Arrow has cast a legacy replacement for the fallen Count, who sadly passed away last season. Peter Stormare is taking up the moniker now that Steh Gabel’s version has bite the dust.
Perhaps Stormare can take some tips from Gabel, who told MTV all about he got into character:
"I listen to aggressive dubstep music to get into character...[Producers] Greg Berlanti and Marc Guggenheim first pitched the character to me as being very much like The Joker. So that was obviously the starting point; but I really tried to find a way where it wasn't just a rip-off and make it my own. For me it was just a matter of having a very playful voice, one that was hoarse and damaged, and affected by his depravity and his recklessness."
Meanwhile, Arrow star Stephen Amell is opening up about some Season 3 “spoilers,” writing on Facebook:
“Read the first two episodes of season 3. Umm... nothing happens. Team Arrow sits around and plays charades for 2 solid episodes. Roy wins.
(Oh my god both episodes are massive.)”
