It seems that production is finally finished on Fast and Furious 7--excluding any editing and sound mixing updates--apparently with enough time to spare to move the official release date of the film to an entire week earlier. WWE wrestling superstar Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson said his final goodbyes to the crew posting the sentimental moment to Instagram. Though "The Rock" is as big as a house, Johnson is a real softy at heart. The gentle giant explained that he had to pull his car off the highway to cry the night he found out about the tragic death of Paul Walker, whose autopsy revealed was still alive immediately following the car crash. Now that she has some more free-time on her hand, perhaps Resident Evil Twitter feet model Michelle Rodriguez will be able to win her ex supermodel girlfriend Cara Delevingne away from evil Suki Waterhouse.
While some folks in Hollywood see every big blockbuster project as stepping stone to meet the actors, producers and directors to take their careers to the next level, WWE actor Dwayne Johnson uses it to get to know the crew, as well as the cast and big-wigs.
In the photo farewell that Johnson posted to Instagram, there appears to be more than 20 friends present without one celebrity among them:
"My last day of FAST & FURIOUS.. I'm truly touched by the farewell love my film crew has shown me.
"It's been an honor to work with such an incredibly hard working and brilliant crew. (a crew who's had to practice great restraint daily on this production;).
"They may not be household names, but they'll ALWAYS be stars in my book.
"With great love and respect to all of you... see ya down the yellow brick"
During an interview with the Hollywood Reporter sentimental Dwayne revealed that he had to pull his car over in order to get a hold of himself when he found out about Paul Walker's death:
"I was driving with (my girlfriend) Lauren when she immediately turned very quiet and was looking at me, studying, wondering if I knew...I pulled over and looked at my messages and had a moment where I just caught my breath.
"We said a prayer right then to give his daughter strength--because we had talked about our daughters."
Thanks to the dedication of the crew and actors the Universal has announced that it is moving up the release date of Fast and Furious 7 up a day or two (via Variety):
"Universal Pictures has moved up the release date of its next installment in the Fast and Furious franchise from April 10 to April 3."
Not bad for a movie whose lead has spent the last six months in a pine box.
