Cesaro Injured On RAW After Vicious Ladder Match Eye Patch Bad News Barrett

Yet another WWE Superstar has been injured this week. Surprisingly, no one was seriously harmed during either of the Ladder Matches at Sunday Night's Money In The Bank. But the next night on RAW, Kofi Kingston accidentally scratched Cesaro's eye. Initially there was concern that he might have to sit out and possibly miss out on the Battle Royal at Battleground on PPV this month, but he has been cleared to compete as there is no serious damage. Sorry ladies, no sexy eye patches for Cesaro. This is just the latest in a series of injuries plaguing the organization. Besides Daniel Bryan's title reign-ending neck injury, who has already had one surgery and may need another, the Intercontinental Champion Bad News Barrett just suffered a separated shoulder at the hands of Jack Swagger. Barrett has been stripped of his title as well.

The injury occurred on RAW when Cesaro was wrestling Kofi Kingston. Kingston won the match but Cesaro beat the crap out of him in anger. Somewhere in there, Kingston caught Cesaro in the eye. Doctors checked him out (via Cage Side Seat):

"We did some specialized testing and staining of the eye which showed he did have a scratch on the right side of the eye, which is called the sclera and not on the cornea, which is the clear part of the eye. We're going to keep his eye patched for the next 24-48 hours, use some artificial tears and re-evaluate him tomorrow."

After a checkup, Cesaro was deemed fit to wrestle (via Bleacher Report):

"The King of Swing has been cleared for active competition, following a re-evaluation by WWE medical staff. 'He's feeling much better and other than a little bit of bruising around the eye itself, everything is normal on his exam,' said Amann on Tuesday. 'He will be cleared to compete.'"

This is good news for Cesaro, who hopes to claim the vacant Intercontinental Championship for himself.
