The darkest timeline is over! They predicted “Six Seasons and a movie,” and it is starting to look like we may just get six seasons and a movie. After being canceled by NBC, and shut down by Hulu, Community has finally found a new home. Yahoo, has renewed the axed sitcom for Season 6. Creator Dan Harmon, and star Joel McHale have since addressed the rebirth of the series.
The darkest timeline is over! Community has found new life via an unlikely source. Yahoo!, has saved the show from cancellation, for their new streaming service Yahoo Screen.
Community creator Dan Harmon addressed the renewal in a press release, telling fans and reporters:
"I am very pleased that Community will be returning for its predestined sixth season on Yahoo. I look forward to bringing our beloved NBC sitcom to a larger audience by moving it online. I vow to dominate our new competition. Rest easy, Big Bang Theory. Look out, Bang Bus!"
The series star, Joel McHale also spoke about the renewal, invoking Mark Twain and adding that all rules are out the window:
“‘The reports of our cancellation have been greatly exaggerated.’ ---Mark Twain (The other version of this quote has been wrong for years). #SixSeasonsAndaMovie is real. Thank you Sony. Thank you Yahoo. Thank you Dan Harmon. And thank you to the greatest f%$#ing fans in the history of the human race. It’s the internet. We can swear now."
