Richard Sherman Quits? Contract Comments, Boycott After Address Published

Seattle Seahawks' superstar cornerback Richard Sherman quit last week. He quit talking to Seattle media outlets, that is. After publishing his new address Sherman took issue with the Seattle Times saying that his house is being bombarded by fans invading his privacy. In other news, Sherman recently defended San Francisco tight end Vernon Davis' sit-out.

Seattle corner Richard Sherman was outraged this week when a local news outlet published his home address which he says has led to mobs of fans hanging around his new house (Fox Sports). He is boycotting Seattle media even though the information is publicly available.

Something like that won't take Sherman's mind off of business, however. He says his team's secret to success is to have as much fun as possible on the field (via Hampton Roads):

"Run as fast as you can, tackle as hard as you can, celebrate after plays. That's what I like about us in Seattle; we play like a bunch of kids. Big kids, but kids just the same.

"I think when you take the game too seriously, you lose the fun aspect of it. It kind of ruins you after a while. There's a lot of pressure, a lot of stress."

Meanwhile, San Francisco 49ers tight end is choosing not to attend mandatory practices in hopes of renegotiating his contract even while accepting fines from the team as high as $20,000. Richard Sherman says as long as Davis has conviction that he's doing the right thing he should stick to his guns (via NBC Sports):

"Do what you believe. If he believes in what he's doing, you got to stick to it. You can't be wishy-washy in this situation. And it sounds like he's standing his ground... So if you're going to stand your ground, stand your ground. But if you're going to cave, cave. You can't stand your ground half the time and then go . . . because that's when they get you."
