Apple is in works of producing another iPad from its prolific line in mid 2013, according to techradar.com.
The iPad 5 is reportedly set to make an appearance in the middle of 2013. Ming-Chi Kuo an analyst for KGI Securities allegedly wrote a note to insiders that Apple may feel pressured to launch a 9.7-inch iPad 5 to cement its lead in the tablet business, according to AppleInsider.
"Though the iPad mini is expected to be successful, we think launching the lighter, thinner 9.7-inch iPad as quickly as possible matters more for Apple strategically," Kuo wrote.
CNET reported Finvista Advisor's analyst Sameer Singh said that the new iPad Mini and iPad 4 are set to account for most of the Apple's predicted 26 million tablet sales in the fourth quarter and will look to beat out Microsoft's Surface and the Nexus 7 by Google.
Singh believes the holiday period will be a good one for the tech giant's tablet sector despite the less than impressive sale of the iPad 4.
As good as the iPad Mini has been doing, it has run into some difficulties due to production and Apple has addressed the issue by introducing a third party to aid in the manufacturing of the product.
The news was confirmed by KnowYourMobile which reported the company is now in the "final stages of appointing a third manufacturing partner that will help offset the difficulties currently besieging production of its iPad Mini devices."
