‘Today’ Show Katie Couric Marries John Molner; ‘GMA’ Michael Strahan Donates $100K [VIDEO UPDATE]

Former Today show co-host and Yahoo! World News correspondent Katie Couric got married in a small ceremony to finance boyfriend John Molner this week in the South Hamptons. Couric spoke highly of her big day, but seemed even more impressed with her positon as Yahoo! News. Good Morning America co-host Michael Strhan recently announced on his other day time TV gig, Live with Kelly and Michael! that he planned to donate $100k to Texas Southern University marching band in order to get them to his Pro Football Hall of Fame induction. Word has it that comedian Kevin Hart donated another $50,000--prompting some to ask if it would just be cheaper to buy a brand new marching band once Michael lands in Canton, Ohio, the home of the hall.

American icon Katie Couric has finally tied the knot to her long-time boyfriend John Molner last Saturday in an intimate little ceremony in New York's South Hamptons.

The day time TV sweetheart told People Magazine she loved the wedding, which was planned entirely by her fiancé, but was mostly just happy to have the whole thing behind her:

"We didn't want to be too traditional...It was so nice to celebrate such a happy occasion, because we've been through a lot in our lives.

"The party was so beautiful and private and special.

"I said, 'It's not a lack of love but a lack of friendship that makes unhappy marriages.'

"But with John, I found a great husband and a perfect friend."

Good Morning America co-host Michael Strahan is planning a big day of his own.

The retired pro football player is all set to be inducted into the Hall of Fame this year, now that he's given his alma mater Texas Southern University's marching band the scratch to make it out to support him.

According to ABC it takes a lot of help from some very reach people to move a marching band a few hundred miles:

"Strahan announced Tuesday morning on ABC's 'Live with Kelly and Michael!' that he will donate $100,000 to help the 'Ocean of Soul' marching band get to Canton, Ohio in August.

"The band is trying to get there to play for Strahan's induction into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

"Earlier this month, comedian Kevin Hart pledged to donate $50,000 to the band."

Thank god Strahan didn't go to school in New Mexico
