It might come as surprise to you but Family Feud's most famous guest stars, the Thompson clan on TLC's hit reality series Here Comes Honey Boo Boo, has been deemed too obscene for the likes of perverted ole England. Apparently the offensive language used by mom June, dad Sugar Bear and the rest of the kids is a little too surly for its 8 p.m. British time slot, or at least Season 3's last episode was determined to be so in hind sight. The Learning Chanel network has since apologized for their crass Georgian kinfolk--promising to edit the show to comply with British Broadcast laws--though it seems there is little they can truly do about Alana, Pumpkin, and Jessica's "F" bombs.
It's official the cuddly classiness of TLC's Here Comes Honey Boo Boo transcends cultural boundaries and country borders, but it has to make sure that in the process it doesn't scare any of the kiddies with its Cheetos powder covered, chocolate coated double fudge expletives, like it did last week in England.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Discovery Communications network TLC has said it's sorry for airing an episode that is reported to have contained no less the 5 different uses of forms of the word,"F-ck", but only "shit" and "bitch"--so it must have been an off night--in England despite the counrty's strict watershed guidelines:
"The most offensive language must not be broadcast before the watershed.
"Offensive language must not be broadcast before the watershed...unless it is justified by the context. In any event, frequent use of such language must be avoided before the watershed.
"The program had been broadcast as a result of human error.
"Discovery accepted immediately that this program breached rules 1.14 and 1.16, apologized and took various steps after the broadcast to ensure it was not shown again before it was re-edited and to improve compliance going forward."
Apologize all you want to those kids but everyone knows that they are still going to grow up to call their mothers "c--ts" right to their faces...just like all the kids do in England.
Besides, we all saw My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding...so let's not start throwing too many stones.
