Last week True Blood shocked fans by killing off Tara in the first few moments of the Season 7 premiere. However, fans are wondering if Tara is really dead because of off-screen death. Now Rutina Wesley is opening about her return to the series after her second death.
Rutina Wesley recently spoke to TV Line where she teased her return to the series, after her second death:
“Tara is really dead. But dead doesn’t always mean gone on True Blood.”
Wesley went on to add that her appearance will be in the V induced hallucinations of her mother Lettie Mae. She also went on to talk about what life after undeath will for be, adding: “She’s basically human Tara, but softer.”
Wesley also spoke to Variety about Tara’s second death:
“It was so cool the way we shot it. Last time Tara died, it was so sad, because it was like Tara and Sookie and Lafayette were this little family, and when Tara got shot in the head, it was like, ‘Whoa!’ This one wasn't as emotional. It was really emotionally getting shot in the head. Especially because it was a finale, so I kept thinking, ‘What if they write me out? Oh my God, this could be my last scene!’ But this time, I get this amazing fight, I get to fight my way out of it, you get to see her going out fighting. Because she is a fighter.”
Wesley later spoke about how her death will affect the rest of the season:
“I think Tara's death is going to be the catalyst for the rest of the season. I can't say more than that!”
True Blood returns this Sunday at 9:00 on HBO.
