American Idol Carrie Underwood's marriage to Nashville Predators' husband Mike Fisher has been the subject of tabloid scrutiny for months now. Internet gossip news has suggested that the Music Town duo are near divorce due to Carrie's refusal to take time off to start the family that Mike wants and she's promised. Some have said that Mike is ready to split over Underwood's obsession with her career, but Carrie says that she would retire tomorrow if Mike told her it was the only way to save their marriage. But she didn't say anything about getting pregnant.
It has been reported, however irresponsibly, by multiple source in print and on the internet that American Idol Carrie Underwood and her country music loving husband Mike fisher are very near splitting up.
According to insider tight with the couple, who spoke to the National Inquirer, Mike finally lost it when he realized that Underwood had no real intentions of taking time away from touring and recording to have his baby like she promised:
"It all came to a head earlier this spring when Carrie told Mike that she was mulling several acting offers that would keep her busy and away from home through the end of the year.
"She realized Mike was ready to throw in the towel on their relationship over the baby issue.
"Mike blew a gasket. He told Carrie that she needed to choose between her career and her marriage."
Interestingly enough, Underwood has made a point of publicly talking about her plans to make several little Fishers, and as far as giving up her career for her husband--Carrie couldn't be more down.
The chart topping country music star told People Magazine that all Mike would have to do was ask, and she would derail this fame train before the sun comes up on tomorrow (via Christian Post):
"He knows [performing] is what I love, and he completely supports me in it, as I do him.
"But if Mike ever told me he needed me to quit, I'd quit.
"When you make that promise to somebody, and you stand before god and your family and friends, you've got to do everything that you possibly can to make that work."
Except for having a baby...that's for peasants.
