Former Bulls Champion Scottie Pippen Lost Goldfish Race and Supreme Court Defamation Case

Bulls legend Scottie Pippen lost twice last week when the Supreme Court threw out his defamation case and he lost a goldfish racing tournament. That's right, a goldfish racing tournament. While bar hopping in Kentucky, Pippen entered into a single-elimination contest wherein his selected goldfish was pitted against others. He lost in the second round. In less ridiculous news, a defamation cased Pippen filed in 2011 was thrown out of court. Pippen claimed that several reports erroneously indicating he had filed for bankruptcy were not corrected even after they were proven to be false.

The $10 Million lawsuit that Scottie Pippen filed against various media outlets in 2011 for reporting that he had filed for bankruptcy. He claims that the reports were made with malice since they went uncorrected after being informed that it wasn't true (via ABC News):

"Lower courts found that as a public figure, Pippen could not show the reports were published with actual malice. That standard requires Pippen to show the information was published knowing it was false or issued with reckless disregard for the truth.

"Pippen claimed the media companies acted with malice because they refused to correct or remove the erroneous reports from several websites after being alerted to the error."

Pippen may have lost his lawsuit but at least he got to have some fun in Lexington when he went into a bar called Two Keys Tavern and entered into a goldfish racing tournament (via TMZ):

"The GM of the bar tells us ... Scottie selected a fish, which he named 'Pippen Champion' -- and entered it into the NCAA-style tournament.

"We're told Scottie's fish actually WON it's first race -- and he advanced to Round 2 ... but 'Pippen Champion' couldn't hang with the advanced group and got dominated in it's second race."
