There was no winner for this weekend’s Powerball lottery drawing. That means that new totals for this Wednesday's game have risen. Check the report below to see just how big they got before you buy your tickets.
The current Powerball lottery craw reads:
“There were no jackpot winners for Saturday's drawing... The next drawing will be Wednesday, June 25th, 2014.”
That brings the new totals for this Wednesday's game up to $70 million.
The official Powerball lottery website reports on one of the recent big winners, writing:
“The Florida Lottery announces that the FlaMass Family Lottery Joint Venture claimed the $148.8 million jackpot prize for the POWERBALL® drawing held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014. The partners of the joint venture, Louis Centrella, 72, of Daytona Beach; Suzanne Centrella, 54, of Naples; and Christopher Centrella, 39, of Naples; chose to receive the winnings as a one-time, lump-sum payment of $86,932,220.04.
“The jackpot-winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased from E's Country Store North, located at 14344 Immokalee Road in Naples. The retailer received a $60,000 bonus commission for selling the jackpot-winning POWERBALL ticket.”
The Powerball website also urges player to play responsibly:
“Lottery games are just that -- games. Lottery games are designed to be enjoyable entertainment for adults, and for the vast majority of lottery players, that's exactly what they are. Multi-State Lottery members sell lottery tickets for the benefits of their citizens, raising millions of dollars for worthy causes and projects.
“The Multi-State Lottery Association encourages all lottery players to be responsible in their amount of play. Never spend more than you can afford on any lottery product. Please remember, it's just a game.”
