Following rumors that Blake Lively is pregnant and could potentially be seeking a divorce from husband Ryan Reynolds, the couple was dealt another low blow. A popular blog attacked the Green Lantern actor, going so far as to call him a failure.
It was once rare for Ryan Reynolds to receive negative press, but now the criticisms are just piling up. This is especially true following the slew of terrible reviews the actor's newest film received at Cannes.
Since then, media outlets have went on the attack. A notable example comes from Thomas Swan of Flicksided, who had more than a few critiques for Ryan.
With a title like "The Failure of Ryan Reynolds," it's no surprise that the author didn't mince words about Ryan's acting career, telling readers:
"Ryan Reynolds has failed. He has failed his career and he has failed his fans. Most importantly, he has failed himself. Well, okay, maybe that's a little harsh, but the sublimely talented actor's career has been like a CW TV show-lots of pretty people but no soul. Reynolds is a working actor. Every year his filmography has three or four entries in it, but the Canadian born Reynolds could be so much more than he is."
Yikes!
Unfortunately for Reynolds, this is just one of a great number of articles to attack Ryan. For weeks now, the tabloids have been predicting the end of his union with the beautiful Blake Lively.
This is especially true of OK! Magazine, who have been the most vocal in their claims. According to one source who spoke with the publication, Blake has had enough of Ryan's jealous rage:
"[Ryan Reynolds] is very possessive of Blake. She's been doing night shoots, and Ryan keeps showing up, which infuriates her. He appears to be worried about Blake's relationship, with her hunky co-star Michiel Huisman."
[UPDATE 1:51 p.m. 06/24/14] OMG! Thomas Swan actually sent me an email, and he wanted to make a few things clear: He doesn't write articles about people's personal lives; despite all of that "failure" talk, he's a total fan of Ryan Reynolds; and he feels that I "dug out the negative, left out the rest and missed the point of the article," which is FAR AND AWAY the best review any of my articles have ever received.
