Apparently Paul Walker's little brother Cody isn't as convincing at playing the recently deceased star of Fast and Furious 7 as Vin Diesel would perhaps like. Production ground to a halt late last November after a tragic car crash claimed the life of Paul Walker, whose autopsy later revealed was still alive immediately following the terrible accident. On his Facebook page the Riddick actor took a break from mad-mugging next to Michele Rodriguez, who recently split from supermodel girlfriend Cara Delevingne, to lament having to work with a bunch of magically pixilated faces, instead of staring into his old buddy's beautiful baby blues.
Very soon production on Fast and Furious 7 will be over, which a good thing for Vin Diesel, who has documenting his troubles adjusting to the on-set absence of Paul Walker on Facebook since returning to production.
For what he deemed "Toretto Tuesday" Vin chose to wax poetic not only about the loss of his Fast franchise compatriot, but also the difficulties of pretending:
"There wasn't a scene in the saga he didn't want to discuss, improve...even with just a changing of a line or adding a specific nuance to enrich a moment.
"He always knew I would fight for him...it is why together, we won best duo...twice, 12 years apart.
"The whole cast and crew has had to adjust to this awkward and uncomfortable process of pixels over people...the challenge is not to allow it to compromise what makes the character so special."
Sadly for Vin, there will always be a visual reminder of the franchise's loss, now that word has it that Cody Walker has joined the cast for good.
But don't worry; we shouldn't have to deal with anymore pixely faces.
An insider told the Daily Mail that Cody has signed on for the additional Fast sequels, but he will be playing his own character, instead of just filling in for his brother:
"Paul's character Brian O'Conner will be seen retiring, while his younger brother will join the crew.
"Of course, Cody isn't a replacement for Paul in any way, but the producers were really grateful that he stepped in to help them finish this last film and Cody so likeable and charming."
