Spurs Revenge: Celebrate San Antonio's Fifth Championship As Fan Face Plants In The Street, Miami Heat Loss

The city of San Antonio might still be partying as we speak. The Spurs and their fans have been celebrating their fifth NBA Championship, exacting revenge on the Miami Heat after last year's heartbreaking loss. Whether it's club-hopping or parading down the Riverwalk the entire city is ecstatic about their newest addition to the trophy case. One fan even kept running even after he fell off the back of a moving car and did a face plant in the street.

The Spurs have quietly won 5 titles in the last 15 years. Led by veterans Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobli and Tony Parker the team has consistently been in the playoffs for the past decade and a half. But this year was also about the young bucks, who always chipped in at just the right moments (via NBA.com):

"'It is soaking in, but I'm still going to live it up for about the whole summer,' NBA Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard said. '(I haven't slept) very much. I've been trying to live the moment. It's been hard to sleep still. Thought I would get some sleep after we won the finals, but I'm still celebrating.'"

In a rematch from last year's finals, the Spurs had a chance to vindicate their loss to the Miami Heat in 2013. Fans loved getting revenge on their east coast rivals (NBA.com):

"'I cried (last year). I think the rest of the city cried, too,' Spurs fan Rosalinda Gonzalez said. 'How they lost, that was bad. It made this year's victory even more sweet, sweet.'"

Rogelio Contreras was riding through the streets of San Antonio on the back of a car when he did a face plant (via New York Daily News):

"Contreras told The News he lost his balance on the car and fell - sustaining a broken ankle.

"But he felt so good at the time he just kept going.

"'I used to live downtown for 10 years and if they won that night I wanted to be there for the celebration.'"
