Happy belated Father’s Day to deadbeat-dads everywhere. A shocking new report from ABC News has been released stating that all child support payments will be stopped. The report claims that in 2015 Senators will stop the vital payments in ten states including South Carolina, Georgia and New York. There is only one thing wrong with this report, (OK, there are like 1,000,000 things wrong with this report but still) and that is it is not from ABC News. It is from a new user generated hoax site called Sunday Times Daily, or STD if you are trendy. Like any STD this one has spreading amongst poor unsuspecting saps who don’t know how to protect themselves.
If you have been on Facebook or one of the various other day drawing social media outlets recently, than you probably got really upset by article you saw about child support being ended in 2015. The article branded as an ABC News report, reads:
“Senators in 10 states including Georgia, South Carolina, and New York have come to the decision to stop child support payments beginning in January of 2015. This decision has come from a petition. There are 65% of fathers paying child support for kids that are not theirs.”
However, upon closer inspection you learn that you are not reading an ABC News article, just one that pretends to be. Congratulations you just an STD. Sunday Times Daily that is. The new user generated hoax site that is designed to fool people on social media. Seriously, its says so right on the website:
“CREATE YOUR OWN FAKE NEWS AND TRICK YOUR FRIENDS BY SHARING IT ON FACEBOOK, TWITTER OR ANY OTHER SOCIAL NETWORK.”
So we guess that is bad news for anyone hoping to skirt their responsibilities to their children in the coming future. Guess you are just going to have man up and do the right thing after all.
